If you need to prevent your child from using a staircase or doorway that is smaller than average, you may need to buy a Narrow Stair Gate. I have researched the available products on the market and my recommendations are reviewed in this post.

The Issue

Watching your child start to crawl and then walk around independently is a very exciting and enjoyable experience. It is undoubtedly one of the main milestones in a child’s development and, now that we all seem to have video recorders on our phones, capturing these first steps is s simple process.

However, this new found independence also brings with it additional safety challenges for carers. Manufacturers understandably concentrate their efforts on the standard size gates since they know that they will be able to sell lots of them.

Many stair gate manufacturers even seem to have taken the business decision not to even try to make narrow stair gates.

Fortunately, one manufacturer has not neglected the narrow stair gate market and has produced not one, but two products.
