List Price: $179
Weight Range: 4 to 30 lbs
The Good – Much cheaper than the Chicco Keyfit 30 and Maxi Cosi Mico AP. Side-impact protection and protective foam insert; Removable comfort pad, harness pads, and an extra large canopy; Premium LATCH connectors; Click & Go system enables it to be used as part of a travel system. Tangle-free and easily adjustable 5-point harness.
The Bad – Can be difficult to fit easily into some smaller vehicles (check with the manufacturer if you own a very small vehicle);
The Bottom Line – The Britax B-Safe is a very popular premium infant car seat. It is much cheaper than its main competitors, yet it still has some excellent safety features. If I had another child I would probably buy this infant car seat over and above the more expensive alternatives. It is an absolute steal at $144.

Britax B-Safe – Overview
This is my fully independent and objective Britax B-Safe car seat review.
The Britax B-Safe Infant car seat is designed for babies weighing between 4 – 30 lbs. The maximum height restriction is 32″ tall (slightly more than most infant seats). It is a relatively light-weight seat to carry around, yet it’s build quality is as you would expect from a company with Britax’s status and reputation.
The seat comes fitted with the Britax “click and go” mechanism, which means that it is compatible with all Britax B-Series strollers as part of a travel system. Switching the seat from car to stroller is a very simple process and, with a little practice, you ought to be able to do it in under a minute.
The seat is very easy to adjust – the buckle system is a pleasure to use and the shoulder adjusters are simple and straightforward too.
Key Features
- Side impact protection distributes crash forces, shields from vehicle intrusion and contains the head and body
- Tangle free, five-point harness distributes crash forces across the strongest parts of the body and provides a secure fit
- Stroller compatible design; Integrated click and go adapter system works with Britax B-Series strollers
- Four harness heights and two buckle positions for your growing child
- Can be installed using LATCH tethers if combined with the B-Safe Base Kit

Peace of Mind
Whenever I am looking to buy a car seat, Britax models are always the first that I consider buying. Their reputation for car safety innovation is second to none and they continue to exceed the minimum car seat safety requirements by a huge margin. This seat is no exception.
Whilst securing the B-Safe seat using the adult seat belt is easier than many similar seats, I prefer the added security and “fool-proof” nature of LATCH anchors. Belt installation also defeats the main purpose of an infant car seat over a convertible car seat, which is the convenience of being able to click the car seat in and out of your vehicle and stroller unit without removing your baby from the seat.

Value for Money
The Britax B-Safe is one of the cheapest premium infant car seats on the US market today, yet there is certainly no compromise on comfort or safety features.
The Britax B-Safe is currently cheaper than its main competitors – the Maxi Cosi Mico AP and the Chicco Keyfit 30.
Funky Factor
As for looks, I really love the clean and bold design of this seat and it comes in a variety of very attractive color schemes – see them here.
