Why Kids Safety Helmets are a Necessary Precaution
Before reviewing the Nutcase Little Nutty Bike Helmets, I would like to briefly share my thoughts on the issue of whether or not kids ought to be forced to wear safety helmets whilst riding their bikes and using their scooters.
Whether your child is riding a bike or using a scooter, a good quality helmet is an essential piece of safety equipment. I would certainly never allow any of my 3 kids to ride or scoot without one and I strongly recommend that other parents adopt a similar stance.
Not only is it obvious to me that helmets act to protect one of the most vulnerable parts of your child’s body, but I have seen for myself how important they are when one of my 5 year old twins boys recently somersaulted over the handlebar of his scooter and the back of his head was the first part of his body to strike the ground.
Fortunately, he was wearing a safety helmet and fortunately escaped with a few minor cuts and bruises, but I dread to think what might have happened if he had not been wearing a safety helmet.
What’s Great About Little Nutty Helmets?
The full specifications are listed below, but the 2 features that immediately stand out and elevate the Little Nutty helmets above its competitors are the adjustable spin dial at the back of the helmet to ensure a more consistent snug fit and the anti-pinch magnetic buckle that can be operated with one hand by parent or child.
A slightly ill-fitting safety helmet is better than no helmet at all, but the adjustable spin dial means that you don’t have to just settle for a reasonable fit. By simply turning the dial to the correct position prior to use, you can ensure a snug and secure fit at all times.
Nothing spoils a bike ride or scooter adventure more than carelessly pinching the skin underneath your child’s chin as you fasten their helmet before setting off. I have been guilty of this terrible crime against “child chin-skin” in the past and the freedom of not having to worry about it again is well worth paying a premium price for in my opinion.
