Fisher Price Infant Motion – The Problem?
Fisher Price’s decision to recall more than 63,000 of its Infant Motion Seats was made upon discovering that there was a potentially very serious defect within the motor housing part of this product. This obviously creates a risk of fire and serious injury or death to any child using the Motion Seat at the time.
Prior to making the recall decision, there had been at least 36 reported incidents in which the motor had overheated. Although no children suffered injuries, one of these overheating episodes did result in a fire developing and could have led to serious consequences.
