On 13th August 2015, Britax issued a recall notice in respect of some Advocate ClickTight, Boulevard ClickTight and Marathon ClickTight convertible car seats manufactured between 1st August 2014 and 29th July 2015.
The problem is related to the harness adjuster knob, which can remain in the release position and, consequently, allow the shoulder straps to loosen while the seat is in use. Clearly, this is a significant problem which carries potentially serious safety risks.
If you own one of these seats and have registered it with Britax, they will automatically send the repair kit to your home address. If not, you should contact them immediately.
If you are considering buying one, although this might put you off, any seats manufactured after today (and supplied to you after today whenever manufactured) should not have this same defect.
Note: This is NOT a product replacement recall. Instead, Britax will provide you with a remedy kit to correct the problem that has arisen with some of these seats.
