The BabyDan Wooden Bed Guard is a probably the best toddler bed rail for those parents who do not need to take their guard away on holiday with them. As a fixed bed guard it is excellent, but it is not very portable and you won’t want to have to remove it and try to pack it into your suitcase or car.
If you need a more portable option, click here to read my “Toddler Travel Bed Rails” post.
BabyDan Wooden Bed Guard – Overview
This bed guard is strong, easy to install and fits all bed base types. It is also nicer to look at than the mesh portable products. It is made from poplar wood and comes in either white or a natural wood colour to enable you to match the bed guard to the decor of your child’s bedroom.
The BabyDan Bed Guard can be installed by a single person. You simply remove the mattress and attach the bed guard lower fittings to the base of the bed using the supplied straps. Once the mattress is repositioned on top, its weight helps to keep the guard securely in place. You don’t have to worry about the bed guard being unstable since the fit is really very stable and secure.
If your child has moved from a wooden cot, the fact that this bed guard is also made of wood will probably help to ease their transition into their first bed.
Although this bed guard is not as portable as some of the mesh alternatives, it does not have to remain in place all of the time. When not in use, the main part of the rail can be removed from the base fittings by simply clicking the buttons on the side supports. The guard can then be easily stored underneath your child’s bed or in some other suitable place.
