Can you spot the differences between the BOB Revolution Flex and the BOB Revolution Pro Jogging Strollers?

The older BOB Revolution SE jogging stroller has been around for quite a long time now has been the obvious choice for many parents who like to get some exercise whiles pushing their children around in a stroller. It came with a fantastic large canopy, was easy to fold flat, and had a very generous sized seat for larger kids.
Despite its popularity, however, it was lacking a couple of features that would have taken it to the next level of functionality.
The good news is that BOB have created some new and improved models of their Revolution Jogging Stroller for you to consider instead.
The Revolution Flex and Revolution Pro strollers both come with the same basic high-end features that can still be found on the older Revolution SE model, but there are a couple of extra improved features for you to consider.
This is my comparison review of the BOB Revolution Flex and BOB Revolution Pro jogging strollers and I hope that the information provided is helpful to you when deciding which one of these products is best for you and your child.
Before I take a look at the important differences between the BOB Revolution Flex and Revolution Pro jogging strollers, I just want to explain the key features that you will find on both of them.
So, what are the similarities between these strollers?
BOB Revolution Flex vs Revolution Pro – Similarities
Rather than write in great detail about each of the specific features on the Revolution SE and Revolution Flex jogging strollers, I am simply going to list the key features.
Before looking at the specific differences between the Revolution Flex and Revolution Pro models, lets briefly take a look at the basic key features that can be found on all models from the Revolution SE upwards.

1. The Key Features (SE, Flex & Pro)
These key features can be found on the BOB Revolution SE, Revolution Flex, BOB Revolution Pro jogging Strollers:

- Wheel locks for increased stability whilst jogging or in tough terrain
- Easy, two step folding, lightweight frame for convenient transport and storage
- Adjustable suspension system for an exceptionally smooth ride
- Accessory adapter allows for quick & easy attachment of the Infant Car Seat Adapter or Snack Tray. Infant Car Seat Adapters available for BRITAX/BOB, Graco, Chicco and Peg Perego infant seats.
- Ultra padded, adjustable reclining seat for enhanced seating comfort, five point padded harness keeps your child comfortably secure
- Very Large Multi-position canopy adjusts for protection against the elements
- High-impact polymer composite wheels with pneumatic tires and tubes take on tough terrain
- Padded handlebar for comfort
- Wrist strap helps you secure stroller
- Limited five-year warranty on the frame and a limited one-year warranty on the small parts and fabric
2. Adjustable Handlebar (Flex & Pro)
The Revolution Flex and Pro strollers have one major advantage over the previous Revolution SE model. Whereas the Revolution SE’s handlebar is set at a fixed height, the Revolution Flex and Pro both have an adjustable handlebar.
The big advantages of this adjustable handlebar are pretty obvious. Parents and other caregivers come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes and, if you want to use a jogging stroller comfortably and safely, you need a handlebar that is set at the right height for you.
Ideally, you don’t want to be stooping down or reaching up to push the stroller around, whether whilst walking or whilst out jogging.
The handlebar on the Revolution Flex and Pro Strollers can be put into 1 of 9 different height positions by simply pressing the big red buttons on the side of the handlebar and then moving it to the desired setting. The handlebar height range (from the ground) is from about 34 to 45 inches, and you ought to be able to find the perfect setting for you whatever your size.
3. Child Safety Warning
You cannot jog using these strollers with a newborn baby onboard.
The relevant age restrictions for each mode of use are as follows:
- 0 to 8 weeks – walk only with Car Seat Adaptor (stroller itself does not recline enough for a newborn baby)
- 8 weeks to 8 months – Walk Only (no need to use Car Seat Adaptor)
- 8 months to 5 years – Walk or Jog (Can go Off-Road)
The maximum child weight for both strollers is 75 pounds.
The maximum child height for both strollers is 44 inches.
Always use the wrist strap when jogging and ensure that the seat is in the upright position.

BOB Revolution Flex vs Revolution Pro – Differences
1. Hand Brake
The Revolution Pro stroller has one major advantage over the Revolution Flex model. Whilst both models come with a foot parking brake, only the Revolution Pro has a hand brake.
There are broadly 2 situations that might arise whilst out and about with a jogging stroller, which would make the additional hand brake a necessity.
Firstly, if you want to jog down hills, the hand brake is an absolutely essential safety feature to prevent you from injuring yourself or your baby as a result of the stroller “getting away from you”.
Secondly, even if you are not actually running with the stroller, walking down steep hills is so much easier and less stressful on your back if you can gently apply the hand brake on the stroller as you walk.
I have been using a hand brake stroller for many years now and it makes like a lot easier when out and about in country parks and steep wooded areas. Without the hand brake, I would probably have avoid some of these places and missed out on some great scenery and challenging hills.
2. Color Options
The Revolution Flex is available in different color options to the Revolution Pro model.
Also, the Revolution Flex comes with a choice of a silver frame or a black frame, whereas the Revolution Pro only comes with a black frame.

BOB Revolution Flex vs Revolution Pro – My Verdict
I would strongly advise you to buy the BOB Revolution Flex or the Revolution Pro rather than going for the older Revolution SE model. If you are trying to keep fit by using a jogging stroller, you really don’t want to develop a bad back (or other injury) because the handlebar is fixed in a position that is inappropriate for your height.
Aside from color options, the only difference between the Flex and Pro models is the hand brake. If you want the added reassurance of the hand brake then you will have to spend another $20 or so to buy the Revolution Pro, which I personally think is money well spent.

I would love a Pro in Canyon because we need a higher weight limit one for my special needs daughter and I’d love Canyon color because she has Prader-Willi Syndrome and that is the ribbon color for her syndrome. However, we can not afford one. Why are all the higher weight cap strollers so expensive? We struggle enough with all the medical expenses, you’d think these companies would give a break to families with needs. This comparison helped me make my decision, but it will be awhile before I can save up for one.
