The Britax Pinnacle 90 booster car seat is available in 4 fabric color options:

• Manhattan
• Broadway
• Circa
• Venti

Before taking a proper look at the 4 different seat fabrics,  it’s worth pausing for a moment to consider whether this is actually an important issue for parents when choosing a booster car seat (or any other type of car seat for that matter)?

Obviously, a car seat’s fabric color does not have any effect whatsoever upon its comfort or safety performance, but I do not consider it to be an entirely trivial matter.

Although I do not share the attitude of those that search for seat fabrics to “match” the interior of their vehicles (I have 3 kids in the back of my car and I have long since abandoned any hope of driving a  sporty and visually impressive vehicle!), I do pay close attention to seat fabrics when making a purchasing decision. But, when I pay close attention to a car seat’s appearance, I am actually trying to find a seat that my kids will like the look of rather than my wife and I.

My eldest kids are 5 years old now and have very strong opinions about most things and car seats are no exception. Whilst I would never let them choose the model of seat (their safety research skills are not yet sufficiently well developed!), I always let them have the final say when it comes to choosing fabric colors. This explains why one of my sons has a “zebra patterned” booster seat despite the fact that I think it is hideous.

My main reason for letting them choose is that I want them to be happy to sit in the seats. Just as a child that likes the look of their safety helmet is more likely to wear it whilst using their bicycle, a child that likes the look of their car seat is more likely to sit in it without protest and without trying to escape from it whilst your vehicle is speeding down the freeway.

So, lets now take a look at the 4 fabric options.

#1 Britax Pinnacle 90 Booster Car Seat (Manhattan)

The Manhattan version of the Britax Pinnacle 90 Booster car seat is my favorite of the 3 options.

There is noting fancy about it – just classic and stylish colors that simply work well together in my opinion. I just love the combination of the plain black seat, the gray SICT wings and the bright red lap-belt guides. The Manhattan is certainly worthy of its association with the USA’s trendiest and most stylish city.

#2 Britax Pinnacle 90 Booster Car Seat (Broadway)

The Broadway version of the Britax Pinnacle 90 Booster car seat certainly makes a bold statement and could never be described as dull. To my eyes, it is best described as a shocking pink flower pattern set against a plain black background. The SICT wings are also plain black in color, and this helps to draw attention to (and accentuate) the boldness of the pink pattern.

I am not entirely sure about this color option, but I know that my daughter would love it (and probably my sons too!). In my experience, kids just love bold and bright colors and I can imagine this seat being a big hit in my household.

#3 Britax Pinnacle 90 Booster Car Seat (Circa)

The Circa version of the Britax Pinnacle 90 Booster car seat is probably my least favorite of the 3 options. It’s not totally awful to look at, but it just doesn’t interest me. That fact is underlined by the fact that I can’t really find anything interesting to say about it. Of course, it remains an excellent car seat despite the cover, but what more can you say about a seat cover that comprises an assortment of dull gray diamond shapes set against a plain black background.

I fully accept that I am not the final arbiter of what is tasteful or attractive in the world of car seat covers. There is a huge amount of subjectivity and the fact that Britax continue to sell this version is testament to the fact that there are people that disagree with me.
