The Chicco MyFit Seat – Introduction
The Chicco MyFit Harness to Booster seat is manufactured by a very well-known and respected child car seat company. Chicco have been making premium car seats for many years and have proven to be popular with both parents and child car seat technicians alike.
The Chicco MyFit (pictured above) is properly considered to be a premium harness to booster car seat, but it comes with a lower price tag than some of its competitors.
Not everyone is in a financial position to simply buy the most expensive child car seats without more careful consideration of the pros and cons of the slightly cheaper alternatives.
So, the big question is whether or not the lower price tag on the Chicco MyFit means that it lacks too many of the important safety and convenience features found on the more expensive seats to make it an attractive choice?
This is the simple question that I aim to answer within this post.
Here is my Chicco MyFit Harness to Booster Seat Review.
The Chicco MyFit Seat – Features
The Chicco MyFit harness to booster seat offers excellent safety and comfort features at a much more affordable price than the Britax Grow with You and Diono Radian 3QX products.
Of course, you can’t expect to get quite as many features as the most expensive seats in the harness to booster category, but you get plenty for your money with the Chicco MyFit seat.
So, what features does the Chicco MyFit Harness to Booster Seat come with?
#1 Child Weight & Height Limits
The most obvious compromise that you will have to accept with the Chicco MyFit seat when compared with the more expensive harness to booster seats is that, although the minimum child weight limit is the same as, for example, the Britax Grow With You Seat (25 pounds), the maximum weight limit is just 100 pounds. This compares with the 120 pound upper limit found on the Britax and Diono ranges of harness to booster seats.
For some, this difference in maximum weight limit will be an issue (especially if your child is much heavier than average), but for many more it won’t be much of a concern and will not prevent you from getting many years of use from the seat.
As for the maximum height limit, the Chicco MyFit is suitable for use up to 57 inches, which is exactly the same as the Diono Radian seats, but is less than the 63-inch height limit on the Britax Grow With You seats.
#2 Harness & Headrest Adjustment
As you would expect from a premium harness to booster car seat, the Chicco MyFit comes with an adjustable 5-point harness and adjustable headrest.
There are 9 different headrest positions to choose from as your child grows in height, which is plenty. The harness can be adjusted without the need to re-thread it, which is a great convenience feature and saves a lot of time.
#3 Side Impact Protection
There are 2 layers of side impact protection on the Chicco MyFit seat and they are concentrated in the areas of your child’s head and torso, which are the most vulnerable in a collision.
The seat is also strengthened with the benefit of a steel frame.

The Chicco MyFit Seat – My Verdict
In my opinion, the Chicco MyFit is the best harness to booster car seat available for less than $200.
It comes with more than enough safety and convenience features to justify its price tag and the seat isn’t missing much when compared with its more expensive competitors.
It is a very solid option and should definitely be on your shortlist if you are looking to buy a harness to booster seat for your child.
